Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-03
These terms govern your use of the Block of Bytes website, learning materials, optional account, and browser-based tools.
The service and your account
- You can use the free learning content without an account. A Google account is required only for optional account features such as cross-device progress sync.
- You must provide accurate authentication information, keep access to your Google account secure, and promptly report suspected misuse of your Block of Bytes account.
Technical requirements and browser-stored work
Interactive features require an internet connection and a reasonably current web browser with JavaScript enabled. The browser-based IDE additionally requires WebAssembly and Web Worker support.
Account features require essential cookies and successful authentication through Google. Saving anonymous learning progress, browser preferences, code, and project files requires browser storage.
The browser-based IDE uses Pyodide to run Python locally in your browser. Code and project files created in the IDE or coding exercises are stored only in the browser profile you use. They are not uploaded to or synchronized with your Block of Bytes account.
Browser storage is not a backup. Clearing this site’s data, ending a private-browsing session, deleting a browser profile, or browser storage management may remove locally stored information. Locally stored work will not automatically be available in another browser, profile, or device. Keep a separate copy of any code or files you want to retain.
Signing out of or deleting your account does not by itself remove locally stored code or project files. Anyone with access to the same browser profile may be able to access that work.
Code you run—including code copied from elsewhere—and supported third-party packages may contain errors, modify workspace files, consume device resources, or behave unexpectedly. Do not use the IDE to store or process passwords, API keys, access tokens, or confidential or sensitive information. Only run code that you trust and understand.
Acceptable use
You may use the service for lawful learning and personal or internal educational purposes. You must not:
- interfere with the service, overload it, distribute malware, or attempt unauthorized access;
- bypass security, access controls, rate limits, or technical restrictions;
- scrape or automate requests in a way that disrupts the service or unreasonably consumes resources;
- use the service to create, run, store, transmit, or share content in a way that violates applicable law or another person’s rights.
Content and intellectual property
- Block of Bytes and its original lessons, design, text, graphics, and software remain protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
- You may view and use the learning materials through the service, but you may not republish, sell, or distribute substantial copies without permission.
- Your own code remains yours.
Availability and changes
Block of Bytes is an evolving service and may contain errors or experience interruptions. We may maintain, change, or discontinue features. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, but these terms do not limit rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Suspension and account deletion
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, material breach of these terms, or protection of the service and its users. Where practical, we will explain the reason and allow you to contact us. You may request account deletion using the contact in the Privacy Policy.
Paid products
The service currently covered by these terms is free. Before a paid product is offered, checkout will show its price, duration, payment provider, cancellation rules, and any additional consumer information that applies.
Responsibility
The learning content is general educational material, not professional advice.
Because locally stored code and project files are not uploaded to Block of Bytes, we cannot restore them after they have been removed from browser storage or access to the relevant device or browser profile has been lost.
Block of Bytes and its learning materials are provided in their current form. Although we aim to keep them accurate and available, we do not guarantee that they will always be complete, error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and testing code before using it outside the service.
Complaints and contact
Questions, complaints, copyright notices, and service concerns can be sent to BlockOfBytes@gmail.com. We will handle consumer complaints in accordance with applicable law.
Applicable law
Polish law applies, without taking away any mandatory protections available to consumers under the law of their country of residence. Courts and dispute-resolution rules are determined by applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The current version is shown above. Material changes will be communicated in an appropriate way and, where required, we will ask account users to accept the new version.
